As the romantic poet and author, Imania Margria, once shared: “No matter where we come from, there is one language we can all speak and understand from birth, the language of the heart, love.” But do we all really share our love and express our devotion in the exact same way? Not quite...
Dr. Gary Chapman, author of The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts, confirms that there are five mediums to communicate one’s love.
So, how do you know which of Dr. Chapman’s love languages you are fluent in?
We will share with you the secrets you need to know to awaken your inner-love intelligence. Find out which one resonates with you, and share with your partner!

The Five Love Languages
Words Of Affirmation
Verbal communication that includes supportive word choices. Something like, “I love you, sweetheart,” will ensure those who speak this love language feel loved and appreciated.
Acts Of Service
When you do helpful activities for your partner; for example, tidying up the home or picking up
the dry cleaning. By lifting a burden and performing services, this shows an ‘acts of service
communicator’ that you do care about your spouse and the relationship.
Receiving Gifts
Gifting your significant other is a way to show that they have been on your mind. This may look
like a surprise bouquet of flowers and chocolates, or tickets to a Knicks game next week. Gift
lovers respond well to purchased love; because it makes them feel cared and provided for by
their spouse. (Ourdate creates custom-made special gift boxes for you and your date!)
Quality Time
Devoting meaningful one-on-one time with your partner. Think about when you and your
significant other go out on a date night. Maybe you dedicate a day or two per week to do just
that.

This love language is communicated through bonding together, by enjoying each other's
undivided attention, while being present with one another.
Physical Touch
Any physical closeness shared with one another: cuddling, touching, and even caressing. Just
being in contact with your partner is another expression of love. And this type of lover needs it,
frequently. Fun fact: physical touch releases the love hormone, Oxytocin!
Communication Is The Key To Intimacy
If you wish to truly connect with your special someone, knowing you and your partner’s love
language is the key to unlocking limitless intimacy! Feel at ease knowing your partner feels both
seen and heard – by you.
Test out some of these love languages with your partner and find out your communication style.
Discovering this together can be adventurous and exciting! It’s as if, all of sudden, your love will
‘click’ and your connection will flow, like never before. And who doesn’t want that?
