Are You Ready for a Relationship?

We all know that genuine romantic relationships are precious and good. That’s why there are so many love songs blasting on the street and so many greatest movies of all times centered around a strong relationship that stays even when life is not at its best. But the truth is… relationships are available for everyone but sometimes not meant for someone who is dealing with demons of their own. Here are some key signs that you can know that you are fully ready for a committed relationship that takes time and hard work to maintain and grow.

You Already Love Yourself

When you love yourself, you don’t need to seek validation from anyone about how confident you should feel about yourself. You work hard for your dreams and know how to prioritize yourself. Having a partner is a lovely plus for the activities you love to do but you can promise yourself that you make time for the things you always loved and hoped for. You understand how to take care of yourself by yourself and also what you need in a relationship to make your life as balanced and well-rounded as it is before you enter in a relationship.

Open Communication Matters to You

Relationships are not all rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes being honest and open with your partners is one of the hardest things to do but one of the key qualities that make a relationship last. However, having disagreements and compromises will make relationships go smoother in the long run and increase transparency with your partner. Recognizing that your partner is not perfect just like you are will decrease the unnecessary expectations you have for an ideal partner and ideal relationship. It will be comforting to know that you and your partner will try each other’s best to make the relationship work even when there are hard times. Open communication can also boost trust and reliability in a relationship that other qualities can not compare.

You Don’t Need Someone to Make You Feel Complete

Even though being with a partner in a relationship is like finding a best friend in life and will make your life more enriched and fulfilled, you should feel at ease with yourself before you commit to a relationship. This can astray you from toxic relationships and partners because you know what you are looking for in a relationship. Being comfortable with yourself before a relationship can help you establish your core values and beliefs. That way, you will know when it’s right to stay in a healthy relationship or leave an unhealthy relationship.

You Are Flexible to Change

Even though you have your own opinions and views on certain issues, you are willing to hear your partners’ opinions out. You are not looking for a perfect relationship and are willing to meet somewhere in the middle with your partner when both of you have opposite opinions. You learn to be more easygoing on issues that are not deal breakers and compromise when necessary.
